Takoma Substation

Washington, DC
Exelon (Pepco)
Year Completed:

Clark is constructing a 230kV gas-insulated substation (GIS) with structural steel and precast structure, demolishing existing high-voltage lines and structures, and installing new underground high-voltage duct banks.

The Takoma Substation project is part of Pepco’s Capital Grid Initiative, a ten-year strategy to strengthen the resilience and reliability of the metropolitan area’s energy grid by modernizing aging infrastructure and creating a smarter energy system.

Clark Foundations will perform support-of-excavation on the project. Metro Earthworks will perform excavation.
