Clark provided preconstruction and general contracting services for the 7550 Wisconsin Avenue project, a rehabilitation of an existing office building built in the 1960's. The project is located in heart of Bethesda and is about to become a sleek, shining icon on one of Bethesda's most prominent corners, one block from the Bethesda metro station.

Rising 11 stories, 7550 Wisconsin Avenue is approximately 153,000 square feet with 8,000 square feet devoted to retail, as well as a full-service fitness center. The project included demolition of the existing skin on three façades and demolition and abatement of the existing bathrooms, walls, and other interior finishes. This building marks the first new office construction delivered to the downtown Bethesda market in over a decade.


The project achieved LEED Core and Shell Gold certification. Sustainable features include:

  • Bicycle storage and changing facilities supporting cleaner modes of transportation.
  • Water-saving fixtures that contribute to a 35% reduction in water use.

  • Low emitting materials and ample ventilation that improve air quality.

  • Abundant daylight and views that enhance quality of life and overall work environment.

  • Clark achieved 20% recycled content and recycled over 50% of generated waste.

  • 35% of the building’s power is derived from a green power source.

  • Average energy use is nearly 20% less than non-LEED certified buildings.
