191 North Wacker Drive
191 North Wacker Drive is a 40-story, 850,000 square-foot, Class A office tower located in Chicago's downtown West Loop. Architect Kohn Pedersen Fox developed a design to distinguish the building from others in the Chicago skyline, and Clark ensured the proper execution of their vision.
191 North Wacker Drive includes 32 stories of office space framed in structural steel and five cast-in-place concrete levels of below and above grade parking. The building rests on a deep caison foundation and is enclosed with a unitized glass curtainwall. Extensive lobby finishes include accented granite walls and floor and unique cedar wall panels. Directly in Chicago's business center, the site allows for excellent views in all directions, particularly to the west and north towards the Chicago River.
To distinguish itself from the rest of the Chicago skyline, 191 North Wacker Drive incorporates a “lantern” light element on its top three floors. An upgrade to the traditional exterior façade, the curtainwall incorporates acoustically rated glass. The base of the building, which includes six floors of parking, is clad with a gray stone that reflects the urban streets and echoes the cool tones of the glass tower above. Framed in stainless steel, the elegant lobby entrance is highlighted by marble flooring, granite walls, and cedar millwork panels. Open views between lobby and street are created by a glass plane dominating the street wall.
