University of Maryland IDEA Factory
Clark will construct the new Innovate, Design and Engineer for America Factory Building (IDEA Factory) on the University of Maryland’s College Park campus.
The building will provide a world class research facility to promote collaboration and inspire innovation and entrepreneurship among UMD students. The 60,000-square-foot building will feature state-of-the-art laboratories, workshops and collaboration spaces for the development of engineering technology and prototypes. The IDEA Factory will house the University’s new Rotorcraft Laboratory, Robotics Realization Laboratory, Advanced/Additive Manufacturing Laboratory, Quantum Technology Laboratory, the Maryland Transportation Institute, and the Internet of Things (IOT) Laboratory.
The new complex will be located on the site of the previous Potomac Building and will be connected to the Jeong H. Kim Engineering Building, which was completed by Clark in 2005.
