The Alamo Cenotaph Monument Restoration project restores the appearance and structural stability of the monument, originally constructed from 1937 to 1939.
Carried out in strict accordance with the US Secretary of the Interior’s Standards for the Treatment of Historic Properties, this work includes the careful extraction and on-site restoration of the Georgia marble stone cladding and Texas granite base, including laser cleaning. All stones will be cleaned on-site and will remain on the Alamo grounds.
The project revitalizes the 60-foot-high concrete substructure, followed by the reinstallation of the stone cladding, and preserves the monument in place for future generations.
