Route 7/659 Interchange Project
Shirley Contracting Company delivered the Route 7/659 Interchange project in Loudoun County, Virginia.
The project included constructing a grade-separated interchange at the intersection of Route 7 and Belmont Ridge Road and the widening of Belmont Ridge Road, from a two-lane roadway to a four-lane median divided roadway with associated facilities between Route 7 and Gloucester Parkway.
The project scope also included bicycle and pedestrian facilities on Route 659, a noise barrier along Route 659 just north of Gloucester Parkway, and the relocation of a 36” water main.
The project removed the last signalized intersection on Route 7 between Lexington Drive and Battlefield Parkway, transforming Route 7 into a limited access facility.
The new interchange improves roadway safety and mobility.
