Year Completed:

Clark is delivering the P-114 Medical Center Addition and Alteration project at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center in Bethesda, Maryland.

As part of the project scope, Clark is constructing a new 575,000-square-foot healthcare facility (Building C) that will include MRI and X-ray rooms, administration space, a cafeteria, and an auditorium. Additionally, Clark is renovating two existing medical buildings adjacent to the new facility.

The project will be completed in phases in order to allow the hospital to remain fully operational during construction. Phase 1 will begin with site preparation for Building C, including investigative and laser scanning of existing mechanical, electrical, and life-safety systems and construction of temporary barrier walls halfway between the existing structures. Then, half of the existing structures will be demolished and the south half of Building C will be constructed in its place.

Phase 2 will commence once hospital operations occupy the new south half of Building C. The remaining buildings will be demolished and then the north half of Building C will be constructed. Six buildings will be demolished between Phase 1 and 2. During Phases 3 and 4, which will occur concurrent to Phase 2, the project team will renovate the two existing medical buildings adjacent to Building C.
