800,000 Square Feet
Year Completed:

Located in Rock Creek Park and covering 11 acres in Washington, D.C.'s Woodley Park neighborhood, the Omni Shoreham Hotel was originally constructed over 60 years ago and combines Renaissance and Art Deco styles. Clark completed the renovations on this historic, 800,000 square-foot hotel in 2000.

The Omni Shoreham Hotel Renovation project was divided into two main phases. Phase I focused on the complete renovation of 772 guest rooms and rough-ins in all public spaces. Each guest room received new electrical wiring, fire protection, stand-alone HVAC units, carpeting, painting, and telecommunications wiring and electrical systems. Phase II included the balance of the renovation and upgrade of all public areas including lobbies, restaurants, ballrooms, and meeting rooms. The project team also installed an extensive network of new piping and conduit throughout the facility, as well as upgraded and centralized chillers, cooling towers, electrical switchgear and emergency generators.

The historic Omni Shoreham Hotel has played host to many social and political events, including inaugural balls for presidents from Franklin Roosevelt to George W. Bush. Employing ingrated phases and extensive coordination with hotel management allowed the hotel to remain occupied over the course of the renovation.
