College Park Middle School
Clark, in partnership with R.L. Burns, Inc., provided preconstruction and construction services for the College Park Middle School project in Orlando, Florida.
The project was planned in four distinct phases with new construction occurring during the school year and renovation work completed over summer break.
The project team installed 12 new portable, module classrooms during the first phase. The new structures were placed next to each other, increasing the fire rating and allowing more classrooms to be housed in less space.
Construction in the second phase consisted of renovation and additions to the Cafeteria/Music building, the Gymnasium, the Media Center administrative space, and renovation of the Art building and restrooms. Two additional portables, excavation of new retention ponds and associated site work, and the demolition of four buildings were also part of the Phase II scope of work.
The third phase of work included construction of a two-story classroom building, associated site work, renovation of the Media Center library space and Building 3, additional portables adjacent to the portable field, and demolition of three buildings. The project team finalized all site work, landscaping, and irrigation in the final phase, as well as construction of canopies above the bus loop and an interior courtyard.
Clark was also responsible for all renovation of existing and construction of new parking areas, a bus loop, athletic facilities, and the renovation or replacement of existing underground utilities.
