Additional collaborations with Flad Architects:
110,000 Square Feet
Argonne National Laboratory has awarded Clark a $65 million contract for the Argonne Materials Design Laboratory in Argonne, IL. Flad Architects is the project architect.
Clark will construct a 110,000 square-foot, fully-functional laboratory as part of the Department of Energy’s Strategic Laboratory Initiative. The project team will build the new facility adjacent and connecting to the Energy Sciences Building and Materials Energy Module to provide modern, efficient, and flexible laboratories. The building will contain open and collaborative spaces with vibration- and EMI-sensitive operations. In addition to research laboratories, the facility will include office space, small group conference rooms, a seminar room, and laboratory support space.
The Materials Design Laboratory is Clark’s 4th project on the Argonne campus. Clark also delivered the Materials Energy Module, the Energy Sciences Building, and the Advanced Protein Characterization Facility in 2013.
