Summer Associate Spotlight: Madysen Ivey

Clark’s Summer Associate Program provides students with the opportunity to work with—and learn from—the best and brightest professionals in the industry while helping to build some of the most sophisticated and notable projects in the country.

We recently sat down with Madysen Ivey, just one of the 185 summer associates that joined the Clark team this summer, to learn about her background and experience with Clark.

Describe your role at Clark.

I am currently working on the Training and Development team within Clark's Human Resources Department.

I've had the opportunity to help manage and organize the employee onboarding process, Clark Corporate University (in-house training academy), and work on a variety of other projects that support the department's mission of providing the Clark team with the support and training they need to thrive in their careers.

I am also working on a capstone project focused on researching the best-in-class community engagement efforts that Clark has implemented on its jobsites.

Tell us a little bit about your background. Where did you grow up?

I’ve lived in various parts of the world, ranging from the United States to Saudi Arabia. This experience has led me to have an appreciation for adventure and exploration. However, when I think of home I think of Texas.

Where do you go to school?

I am currently a rising junior at the Marriott School of Business at Brigham Young University in Provo, Utah where I am majoring in human resource management.

On-campus you can find me participating in our college's chapter of the Society for Human Resource Management and the Women in Business organization.

What is a fun fact that someone might not know about you?

I am an advanced scuba-certified diver. Also, my husband is also working as a summer associate at Clark within the company's Financial Planning and Analysis Department.

What is the most valuable lesson you've learned thus far?

I've been able to improve my problem-solving skills this summer. The teams I have worked with at Clark have taught me the importance of adaptability. I’ve learned that when you work together as a team, you can address all problems and thrive in any situation!

What drew you to Clark?

I love working for a company that builds something tangible. The nature of construction allows you to physically see the fruits of your efforts, and that is something that you don't get in many other industries.

What has been your favorite part of your Clark eXperience?

The people. They are so passionate, hard-working, and have so much dedication for their work product. The people here are what make Clark such an amazing place to work.
