Clark Hosts Annual Meal Packing Event to Support Victims of Hurricane Dorian

On December 12, Clark Construction’s Bethesda office teamed up with The Outreach Program to pack meals for the thousands of families affected by Hurricane Dorian in the Bahamas. In less than an hour, the Clark team packed 30,240 meals for those in need.

The Outreach Program is a non-profit that organizes food packaging events throughout the United States to provide food, safe water, education, and medical care to those in need. To date, the program has provided more than 550 million packaged meals to communities around the world.

The event served as a masterful example in team building, as teams worked together to add meal ingredients into each meal bag, carefully measure the bag to ensure the correct weight distribution, and then seal the bag. Each box contained 36 meal bags, which translates to 216 meals.

Adorned in festive holiday-themed hats, the 14 teams competed to see which team could pack the most boxes. At the conclusion of the event, two teams tied for victory – each packing 11 boxes.
