The Hunter's Point Substation features the construction of a new 115-kilovolt, clean-air, gas-insulated substation in the footprint of a former power plant. The building is comprised of steel, precast concrete, and perforated glass fiber-reinforced concrete panels to support natural air ventilation. The substation is intended to strengthen the resiliency of the city’s electrical grid and enable further area development.
