UC Hastings Academic Replacement Building Tops Out

On February 7, representatives from Clark Construction and UC Hastings College of Law gathered to celebrate the last beam being placed atop UC Hasting’s new academic building. The state-of-the-art academic facility, located in San Francisco’s historic Civic Center District, will enable UC Hastings to provide a more cohesive campus experience by replacing and consolidating student, faculty, and staff spaces

The new 58,000 square-foot academic building will feature classrooms, offices, legal clinics, a conference center, as well as indoor and outdoor student life spaces. The second level exterior quad space is designed as the new heart of the campus as the main gathering area for the school and a connector between buildings. Additional outdoor space is provided on the large upper level roof terrace, where skyline views are protected from the wind.

With this milestone realized, the project team will turn their focus to completing the building envelope and interior work.

Completion is slated for 2020.
