Clark Gives Back to Local Communities During Unprecedented Times

At Clark, giving back to the communities in which we live and work is part of our DNA. As the effects of COVID-19 continue to be felt nationwide, community support is more important than ever. From donating blood to delivering meals to frontline healthcare workers, members of the Clark team have continued to serve local communities during these challenging times.

Here’s a look at how Clark teams are giving back across the country:

  • Clark assisted United Health Care, a small outpatient clinic system primarily in Washington, DC, in acquiring and setting up tents and lighting for COVID-19 testing prior to entry to their clinics. In total, the team set up temporary screening facilities at five Unity Health Care locations. The team was able to source and stand-up the tents and other supplies in just over 24 hours.

  • C3M Power Systems team members provided Northern Virginia Family Service (NVFS), one of Clark's longstanding philanthropic partners, with much-needed updates to the electrical power and systems in NVFS’s homeless shelter, administration building, and food warehouse at their SERVE campus in Manassas, Virginia.

  • The Clark/Weitz/Clarkson joint venture team hosted a drive at the Kansas City International New Terminal & Parking Garage, collecting boxed and canned food items, fresh produce, and household goods and personal hygiene items for the Morningstar Youth & Family Center.

  • Across the country, Clark has equipped healthcare workers with PPE through monetary and in-kind donations at hospitals from Johns Hopkins in Baltimore, Maryland to Keck Medicine of USC in Los Angeles, California.

  • Clark teams have provided more than 2,000 meals to frontline workers, including:

    • The University of Maryland Medical Center (UMMC) project team teamed up with Baker Concrete to provide 250 meals to frontline workers at UMMC.

    • Members of the Clark team throughout Northern California delivered nearly 600 meals to frontline staff at UC Davis Medical Center in Sacramento and Clovis Community Medical Center’s Emergency Department and COVID-19 Response Team Department in Fresno.

    • The Metropolitan Park project team donated 330 meals (one for each structural pile currently being installed at the site) from local restaurants to healthcare workers at the Virginia Hospital Center.

    • The team building the North Torrey Pines Living and Learning Neighborhood at UC San Diego delivered 100 boxed lunches from a local deli to healthcare workers at the university hospital.

    • Project teams throughout the Mid-Atlantic region donated 550 meals to frontline staff at MedStar Georgetown University Hospital, INOVA Hospital, University of Maryland Prince George’s Hospital Center, and University of Maryland Medical Center Midtown Campus.

    • In the Los Angeles area, Clark delivered 100 boxed meals to staff at the Intensive Care Unit, Emergency Department, and Nurses Wing at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center.
