Bethesda, MD – Clark Construction Group announced today that it has been recognized by WayUp as a 2021 “Top 100 Internship Program” for its Summer Associate Program.

Internship programs were selected based on a panel of industry-leading human resources professionals with input from the public. According to WayUp, nearly one thousand companies who nominated their internship programs to be recognized for the Top 100 were judged based on uniqueness, diversity, career development, company culture, and full-time employment prospects.

“Just like we have a plan for each of our projects, Clark dedicates the leadership, guidance, and resources necessary to ensure that our summer associates thrive during their time with us,” said Chip Hastie, executive vice president for project development. “I started at Clark as a summer associate and know firsthand how the program can shape a career.”

As part of Clark’s 12-week program, summer associates are embedded on a project team or in a corporate department in one of Clark’s 14 regional offices across the country. Regardless of role, associates are provided with work that impacts day-to-day operations while learning the fundamentals of construction and Clark’s business. Additionally, summer associates foster relationships with their peers and other members of the Clark team through a capstone project, lunch & learns, community service activities, jobsite tours, and company events.

“There is an overwhelming sense that everyone around me is truly invested in my personal and professional growth,” said Jaylen Campbell, a summer associate from the University of Michigan. “After just a few short months, I can confidently say that the people here are what make Clark such a special place to work.”

Throughout the summer, associates work alongside peers and mentors to research and develop innovative solutions to advance strategic company initiatives. In August, they present their findings to company leadership at Capstone Day.
