Chris Carl, a project executive at Clark Construction Group, has been named as one of San Diego Business Journal’s 40 Next Top Business Leaders Under 40. Honored alongside other leaders and entrepreneurs in the business world of Southern California, Chris was selected for his commitment to leaving a positive mark on the San Diego community.
A native San Diegan and graduate of the University of California, San Diego (UC San Diego), Chris currently oversees construction for Clark on the North Torrey Pines Living and Learning Neighborhood at UC San Diego project. Once complete, the 1.6 million-square-foot project will be the largest undergraduate community in the University of California system.
Throughout his 13 years with Clark, Chris has played a key role in the construction of projects across market sectors in Southern California including Village East at UC San Diego, the San Diego FBI Field Office, and the Marriott Marquis & Marina.
“We are incredibly proud to be on the team with Chris,” said Carlos Gonzalez, regional executive office and senior vice president in Clark Construction’s Western Region. “From the beginning of his career, Chris has demonstrated commitment to being a master builder of relationships and buildings. With equal dedication, Chris solves the challenges of complex construction and earns the trust of clients, partners, and teammates.”
In addition to being a first-class builder, Chris is deeply involved in philanthropic and mentorship initiatives across the city, including the ASC Competition for local university students, Las Patronas, and UC San Diego’s CMAA Student Chapter, Structural Engineering Department, and Triton athletics.
