CBZG Design Builders, LLC Awarded U.S. Navy's Camp Porter Project

CHICAGO – CBZG Design Builders, LLC has been awarded the Camp Porter Barracks and Infrastructure contract for the United States Navy at the Recruit Training Command in Great Lakes, Ill. The total contract value is $186.9 million (the base contract amount is $98.1 million and options total $88.8 million). CBZG Design Builders, LLC is composed of Clark Construction Group, LLC, Blinderman Construction Company, Inc., M+W Zander U.S. Operations, Inc., and Graef, Anhalt, Schloemer and Associates, Inc.

Naval Station Great Lakes, located 35 miles north of Chicago, opened in 1911 and is now the only boot camp for the U.S. Navy. The Camp Porter project completes the Navy’s $787-million Great Lakes Recapitalization Program of the Recruit Training Command. The project includes the design and construction of three recruit barracks; a visitor center; a simulated arms marksmanship trainer; gate entry facilities; an 850-car parking structure; demolition of 14 buildings; and major infrastructure work. This contract will be incrementally funded, and work is scheduled to be complete in November 2010.

M+W Zander U.S. Operations will lead the design effort. Graef, Anhalt, Schloemer and Associates will serve as civil and structural designers. Clark Construction and Blinderman Construction will provide construction services.
