Westin Hotel
The 240,000 square-foot Westin Arlington Gateway was the last component of Arlington Gateway, a mixed-use development in the Ballston neighborhood of Arlington, Virginia.
Standing 15 stories, the Westin Arlington Gateway incorporates a precast façade with extensive curtain wall and stone accents. The 335-unit hotel features a business center, retail component, 6,800 square-foot ballroom and 10,000 square feet of full-service conference facilities. The hotel’s 12 meeting rooms range in size from 600 square feet to 6,800 square feet. Other amenities include an indoor, heated swimming pool, exercise room and spa.
The project was built in close proximity to two other buildings under construction at the same time—901 North Glebe Road and the new headquarters for the National Rural Electric Cooperative Association, which is just 15 feet from the Westin. Despite this challenge of coordinating construction activities and material delivery in this high-traffic zone the hotel opened on schedule.
