888 16th Street NW
The Trammell Crow Company has awarded Clark a contract for 888 16th Street NW in Washington, DC. Gensler is the project architect.
Clark will renovate and reposition an existing office building into an 180,000-square-foot trophy-class office building with nine stories above-grade and three stories below-grade. The project team will demolish and abate the existing building’s façade while maintaining the integrity of precast members that serve as a part of the building’s structure. The building’s new façade will feature Portuguese limestone, granite, metal panels, curtain wall, and a structurally glazed entrance vestibule. The lobby will feature Italian travertine and marble, along with millwork and brushed bronze accents. Clark’s team will also construct a penthouse common space including meeting rooms, a bar area, and a terrace with uninterrupted views of the White House and Washington Monument.
The project’s scope of work also includes site updates to provide outdoor seating spaces and improve sightlines along 16th and Eye Street.
The project is designed to achieve LEED® Gold. Construction is underway and completion is slated for June 2019.
