400 E Street SW is an innovative, mixed-use building designed to create the effect of two distinct buildings. The Hyatt Place lobby is located on the 400 block of E Street SW while the fire station entrance and apparatus bays are located on the 500 block of 4th Street SW.

Clark constructed a 12-story mixed-use property with two levels of below-grade parking. The first two levels of the 210,000 square-foot structure contains a fire station and retail space.

Above the fire station is a Hyatt Place, complete with a lobby, gallery, dining areas, and meeting rooms. The hotel also features a fitness center and an outdoor recreational pool with a veranda.

The building’s façade is comprised of a combination of metal paneling, cementitious panels, precast, and glass curtain wall.

WDG Architecture is the project architect and Nelson Architects will provide design services for the fire station.
