Upon completion, 400 E Street SW will be an innovative, mixed-use building designed to create the effect of two distinct buildings. The Hyatt Place lobby and parking entrances will be located on the 400 block of E Street SW. The fire station entrance and apparatus bays will be located on the 500 block of 4th Street SW.

Clark is constructing a 12-story mixed-use property with two levels of below-grade parking. The first two levels of the 210,000 square-foot structure will contain a fire station and retail space. The project team will then construct a hotel on top of the station, complete with a lobby, gallery, dining areas, and meeting rooms. The hotel also will feature a fitness center and an outdoor recreational pool with a veranda. The building’s façade will be a combination of metal paneling, cementitious panels, precast, and glass curtain wall. Measures will be taken to mitigate the noise from the fire station below and the adjacent I-395 highway.

The Hotel at 400 E Street project is designed to achieve LEED® Silver certification and will boast 5,500 square feet of green roof space on the third floor and rooftop level.

Clark Foundations will serve as part of the project team, providing support of excavation.

WDG Architecture is the project architect and Nelson Architects will provide design services for the fire station.
