1.5 Million Square Feet
Clark has been awarded a $490 million design-build contract for North Torrey Pines Living and Learning Neighborhood at University of California – San Diego (UCSD) in La Jolla, CA.
Clark will design and construct 1.5 million square feet of residential and academic spaces in the development of a living and learning community at UCSD. The North Torrey Pines Living and Learning Neighborhood will provide residential units for 2,000 undergraduates in Sixth College. The project team also will construct residential amenities, support spaces, and new locations for the Sixth College Provost, student affairs center, and writing program. As part of the scope of work, Clark’s team also will provide below-grade parking for 1,200 vehicles, roadway improvements, and utility and site improvements.
The Living and Learning Neighborhood will provide an educational environment that fosters collaboration, leadership, and innovation in support of the UCSD’s strategic plan. The new community will integrate housing and academic spaces by providing new cross-discipline classrooms, as well as instructional and research space for the Social Sciences and Humanities departments and programs.
The project is designed to achieve LEED® Platinum certification.
Substantial completion is slated for summer 2020.
