The Somerset Development Company and Jonathan Rose Companies have awarded Clark a $32 million contract for the Portner Flats project in Washington, DC. Eric Colbert & Associates is the project architect.

Clark constructed a 110,000 square-foot, eight-story apartment building, complete with one level of below-grade parking. The scope of works included installing a roof terrace with seating areas, children’s playground, and a saillike sun shade. The building includes numerous amenities, including a ground floor wood deck terrace, a computer center, and multi-purpose and exercise rooms.

Portner Flats is projected to be one of the premier affordable housing facilities in the city’s U Street Corridor, replacing three affordable housing buildings previously located on the site.

Clark Foundations and Clark Concrete were part of the project team and performed support of excavation and cast-in-place concrete work, respectively.
