Groundbreaking Kicks Off Mixed-Use Project Near Nationals Park

WASHINGTON – Grosvenor Americas and McCaffery Interests recently awarded Clark a contract for F1rst, a new mixed-use project located close to Nationals Park. Work on site began last month, but last week's groundbreaking ceremony marked the official start of the project, which is scheduled for completion by opening day 2017.

The project features a 13-story, 325-unit apartment building as well as a 12-story, 126,000 square-foot extended-stay hotel. The buildings will share two levels of below-grade parking containing more than 200 parking spaces. The project also will include nearly 25,000 square feet of retail space on the ground level. Once completed, the project will feature a fitness center, club room, outdoor courtyard, garage with bike parking, and a rooftop deck with a pool, grilling stations, dog park, and an outdoor multimedia theatre that will have stadium-style seating and a view into Nationals Park.

Hickok Cole Architects is leading the design efforts for the project.
