November 4, 2010

VARIOUS, Calif. – Clark Construction Group - California, LP, has been awarded a design-build contract for the seismic retrofits of 18 buildings in nine locations for Catholic Healthcare West (CHW).

Clark's scope of work covers approximately 400,000 square feet of facilities at these CHW hospital campuses in California: California Hospital Medical Center in Los Angeles, Glendale Memorial Hospital in Glendale, Mercy Hospitals of Bakersfield in Bakersfield, Northridge Hospital Medical Center in Northridge, St. Bernardine Medical Center in San Bernardino, St. John's Pleasant Valley Hospital in Camarillo, St. Joseph's Medical Center in Stockton, St. Mary's Medical Center in San Francisco, and St. Mary Medical Center in Long Beach.

The scope of work for all of the facilities involves the seismic retrofit of acute care facilities to comply with California senate bills SB 1953 and SB 1661. Every hospital campus has special considerations and requires a unique approach.

The design-build team is handling each facility individually to develop customized solutions. The design and construction schedule varies by hospital campus, however, preconstruction efforts will extend through 2012.
