Clark Inn Named to Honor the Late A. James Clark

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Last month, Samaritan Inns held a ribbon-cutting ceremony for the Clark Inn, named in honor of A. James Clark. Mr. Clark assisted the non-profit organization with some of their first renovations and supported Samaritan Inns for over 25 years.

Samaritan Inns provides structured housing and recovery services for homeless or at-risk individuals who suffer from drug and alcohol addictions. When Samaritan Inns began in 1985, Mr. Clark helped purchase and renovate their first transitional home located in Washington, D.C. Since then, the organization has renovated eight abandoned houses and buildings across the D.C. area and has assisted over 12,000 men and women as part of Samaritan Inns’ unique Recovery Continuum. 

During the event, the organization also introduced its new Women with Children Program. This initiative allows women who struggle with addiction to receive care while maintaining custody of their children. These women will be housed in the Clark Inn, which was recently renovated under Clark Construction's leadership. Clark's Senior Vice President Mike Alto, who also is Chairman of the Board of Samaritan Inns, led the renovation efforts along with a number of company employees.
