Clark Delivers Laptops to Children of Employees through Connect to Learning Program

Earlier this year, efforts to manage the spread of the novel coronavirus resulted in a wave of closings, including schools across the country.  By late March, most school systems had transitioned completely to online learning. Families had to quickly adapt to this new standard as students of all ages were now expected to join video conferences for instruction and complete assignments online.

As school-age children began to adjust to this new normal, Clark recognized the challenge that this presented to employees with limited technology resources and launched a new program to help tackle this unexpected challenge. The “Connect to Learning” initiative aims to foster the education of the youngest members of the Clark team by providing laptops with video cameras to families.

“In this time of chaos and extreme uncertainty, this act of kindness and generosity makes me very, very proud to be part of the Clark family,” said Michelle Reinhardt, senior safety manager for Shirley Contracting.

For the remainder of the school year, children of Clark employees engaging in distance learning will have access to up-to-date laptops with cameras.

“Honestly, it’s been a lifesaver,” said Matthew Cerritelli, a senior superintendent at S2N with two young children at home. “I’m thankful to work for a team that is thoughtful enough to initiate this during such an unprecedented time.”

Clark’s IT Department has distributed more than 100 computers to employees, and computers will continue to be issued as needed.
