Boulder Crest Retreat To Provide Respite for Wounded Warriors

April 3, 2012

BETHESDA, Md. – Clark Construction Group and the Clark Charitable Foundation have teamed up to pledge $500,000 to Boulder Crest Retreat, a 37-acre facility located in the foothills of Virginia's Blue Ridge Mountains that will offer a rural recovery setting for wounded warriors and their families.

Designed as an escape from the clinical environment of local military hospitals, Boulder Crest will offer accommodations and recreational services aimed at expediting the physical and emotional recovery of injured service men and women. Wounded warriors will be able to visit the facility for periods of two to seven days with no out-of-pocket costs.

Clark is the first local company to support Boulder Crest Retreat and, as a result, will name one of the facility's four cabins. "Supporting our veterans is a top priority for our community-focused, charitable endeavors," said Susan Ross, Chief Administrative Officer for Clark Construction. "We believe that Boulder Crest will go a long way toward helping our troops reconnect with their families, repair their lives, and re-enter the civilian environment in ways that go far beyond traditional medicine and therapy."
