Clark Construction Group, LLC has begun work on the final phases of Liberty Center for Ballston Investor Group, LLC. These components include the Residences at Liberty Center, a 500,000-square-foot condominium / apartment building on Quincy Street and Two Liberty Center, a 180,000-square-foot office building on Wilson Boulevard, in the Ballston neighborhood of Arlington.
When completed in 2008, the 1 million square foot Liberty Center project will be one of the largest mixed-use developments in Ballston featuring office, residential and retail space. Designed and master planned by SmithGroup of Washington, D.C., the complex will include a public park on Wilson Boulevard with a water feature, outdoor cafés, a public art display as well as a smaller public park on 9th Street.
Two Liberty Center, a nine-story Class A office building, is located directly across the street from the Ballston Common Mall on Wilson Boulevard. The structure features post-tension concrete construction providing column-free floor plates of approximately 20,500 rentable square feet. An underground parking garage and 8,600 square feet of retail also will be built.
The Residences at Liberty Center will feature 234 luxury condominium homes and 235 rental units in a 21-story tower and 20-story tower, respectively. Each building will offer one and two bedroom units and both one and two bedroom units with dens, priced from the upper $300’s to over $1 million. Amenities include a rooftop terrace, fitness center, controlled access parking and private courtyard.
In Spring 2005, Clark completed the first phase of the project, One Liberty Center, a 330,000-square-foot office building. The Shooshan Company is the development manager for the entire Liberty Center project.
