Clark Construction Begins Build-to-Suit for Takeda Pharmaceuticals

— Takeda Pharmaceuticals North America, Inc. selected Clark Construction Group, LLC of Chicago to build the first phase of its new corporate headquarters in Deerfield, Ill., a suburb of Chicago. The new headquarters campus consists of two buildings totaling 380,000 square feet.

Located 22 miles north of Chicago’s Central Business District and 12 miles north of O’Hare International Airport, the project is strategically located in the Village of Deerfield at the northeast corner of Lake Cook and Saunders Roads. The new headquarters will be cohesive in design and specifically developed to encourage collaboration within a sustainable building environment.

Both buildings are five-story steel office structures with raised floors and enclosed in a high performance glass and aluminum skin. Each is linked at the ground floor by a common lobby. Building Two features a partial basement for the campus control center, and loading dock. A three-level precast concrete parking structure is also included in the complex. The landscape design and site improvements are projected to attain LEED certification.

Thompson, Ventulett, Stainback & Associates, Inc., Architects of Chicago is the architect and Hines of Chicago is the development manager on this project, which will be completed in late 2006.
