Hampton Inn Underway for JBG-CG near the Washington Convention Center

— A joint venture comprised of the JBG Companies of Washington, D.C. and CG Investments of Middleburg, Va. selected Clark Residential, a subsidiary of Clark Construction Group, LLC, to serve as general contractor on the $15 million Hampton Inn Washington. It is the first Hampton Inn in the District of Columbia and was named by Hampton as its “Deal of the Year” for 2003.

Hampton Inn is the only Hilton Hotels brand not already represented in D.C. “Many of these brands have a loyal customer base,” says Ken Finklestein, principal at JBG. “If your hotel is the only option in town and people want to stay in town, you’re going to capture that business. It is an advantage.”

Located at the intersection of Massachusetts Avenue and 6th Street, NW, two blocks from the new Washington Convention Center, the Hampton Inn Washington will be a 228-room hotel. Designed by Gordon & Greenberg Architects of Cabin John, Md. with interior design by J/Brice Design of Boston, it will offer a comprehensive amenity package that includes meeting facilities, a business center, an indoor pool and a fitness facility. The 125,000-square-foot structure also will feature a three-level underground parking garage.

The hotel is one of the few new hotel developments being built near the recently-opened Washington Convention Center, also built by Clark.

Clark Residential is located in Bethesda, Md.
