Park Connecticut Apartments, one of the few new market-rate rental communities in Washington, D.C. in over 10 years, was just completed by Clark Construction Group, LLC for Arlington, Va.-based Charles E. Smith Residential Realty, one of the country’s leading real estate investment trusts (REITs). The $21 million, 11-story apartment building is conveniently located near Metro on Connecticut Avenue, NW.
Occupying a formerly vacant, tree-lined site, the 240,000-square-foot building offers 142 one-and two-bedroom apartment units, ranging in size from 600 square feet to 1,250 square feet.
The Weihe Design Group, Inc. of Washington, D.C., has created an elegant facade of precast concrete with brick accents, single-hung windows and French doors. Bronze storefront doors mark the building’s entrance, which opens into a dramatic lobby accented with limestone and book match millwork. Units include high-end finishes such as maple cabinets, granite countertops and ceramic tile floors in the kitchen, limestone foyers and bathrooms with soaking tubs. Selected units also offer fireplaces and balconies.
Residents and visitors enjoy formal landscaping as well as a courtyard with fountain and brick and precast pavers. Other amenities include a library, business center, exercise room, rooftop swimming pool and spa, and secured entry.
In addition to Smith, Clark and the architect, the project team includes SK&A of Washington, D.C., structural engineer, and Engineering Design Group, also of Washington, D.C., mechanical/electrical/plumbing engineer.
Clark Construction Group, LLC is based in Bethesda, Md.
