TPC Clubhouse at Sawgrass
Clark completed the new TPC Sawgrass clubhouse in time for the PGA Tour’s annual PLAYERS Championship that is located at the Clubs’ Stadium Course. The new clubhouse replaced an out-dated building with a larger facility with more amenities. Clark served as the construction manager/general contractor for the demolition of the existing clubhouse and the construction of the elegant 77,000 square foot clubhouse and related improvements. The construction, which was completed in only 11 months, started after the finish of THE PLAYERS in March of 2006, demolition of the existing building, and removal of approximately 8,000 cubic yards of unsuitable soil.
The new clubhouse, designed by Chapman Coyle Chapman Architects, reflects the Mediterranean Revival-style architecture seen in the buildings of nearby historic St. Augustine. The clubhouse features banquet and meeting facilities, locker rooms, retail space, golf course management offices, and outdoor entrainment areas.
Clark also constructed the stucco retaining walls, ornamented in precast and cast aluminum railings, which frame the new, 11,000 square foot lawn that overlooks the 9th and 18th holes of the Stadium Course designed by famed golf course architect Pete Dye. It has hosted THE PLAYERS since 1982.
