National Mall Turf & Soil Restoration, Phase 2 and 3

As part of Phase Two and Three of the National Mall Turf & Soil Restoration project, Clark replaced the five remaining panels between 7th and 14th streets N.W. Clark led the first phase of the turf restoration effort, which included the replacement of three lawn panels and the addition of drainage and irrigation systems on 13 acres between 3rd and 7th streets N.W. 

As part of Phase Two and Phase Three of the National Mall Turf & Soil Restoration project, Clark Construction installed handicap accessible granite curbs, replaced the grass panels with engineered soil to resist soil compaction, regraded grass panels to improve drainage, installed drains and underground cisterns to collect storm water, installed a new irrigation system, and enhanced hardscape for event use. 

Clark led the first phase of the turf restoration effort, which included the replacement of three lawn panels and the addition of drainage and irrigation systems on 13 acres between 3rd and 7th streets N.W. The project was completed in 2012 in time for President Obama’s second inauguration.
