During the event, Ventura County Executive Officer Mike Powers addressed the crowd and praised the new building and the people who will work inside its walls, “Finally, we have a high-quality facility to match the high-quality care [the people who work here] have been providing all of these years."
The design-build method used by the Clark-led team to deliver the OSHPD-regulated medical center incorporated innovative ways to complete the project in just 48 months – record time for a healthcare facility in California. The team utilized lean construction principles and a phased approach to designing, permitting, and constructing the four-story, 242,000 square-foot hospital wing.
The newly constructed wing will open to patient care in July and will provide numerous medical services, including emergency services, surgery obstetrics, intensive and neonatal intensive care units, and state-of-the-art imaging. The new wing has been designed to be seismically safe in the event of an earthquake.
