The Somerset Development Company and Jonathan Rose Companies have awarded Clark a $32 million contract for the Portner Flats project in Washington, DC. Eric Colbert & Associates is the project architect.
Clark will construct a 110,000 square-foot, eight-story apartment building, complete with one level of below-grade parking. The scope of works includes installing a roof terrace with seating areas, children’s playground, and a saillike sun shade. The building will include numerous amenities, including a ground floor wood deck terrace, a computer center, and multi-purpose and exercise rooms.
Portner Flats is projected to be one of the premier affordable housing facilities in the city’s U Street Corridor, replacing three affordable housing buildings previously located on the site.
Clark Foundations and Clark Concrete are part of the project team and will perform support of excavation and cast-in-place concrete work, respectively.
