River Point Plaza
Clark, as part of a joint venture team, contstructed River Point Plaza, a 55,000 square-foot public park and riverfront area in downtown Chicago. The plaza was built in preparation for an adjacent 55-story office building planned for the site.
The 600 foot-long River Point Plaza follows the Chicago River and was constructed over five active commuter rails lines that feed into the heart of the city. The plaza descends to the existing riverwalk and extends to the river bank through a series of landscaped terraces and ramps. It features seating areas, arcing pathways, and a new portion of riverwalk. A new seawall was built up to 20 feet out into the river to support the new riverwalk. Located within the Loop neighborhood, the plaza provides a unique recreational space for local residents.
The project's landscaping will complete in 2016 once the construction of tower is completed.
